Homewood Volunteer Ski Patrol is Recruiting
What are the requirements?
q 15 years or older.
q Good personal communication skills.
q Positive attitude and enjoy working with a team.
q Desire to learn and help others in need.
q Aspire to be a part of a cadre of respected snow sport enthusiasts, and make friends that will last a lifetime.
q Be able to ski or snowboard all terrain at HMR, in any weather, in any type of snow conditions, in an exemplary manner.
What’s next?
q Pass the Ski Check
We look for skiers, snowboarders or tele-skiers that are stable and confident anywhere on our mountain. Ski checks are done through out the season on any weekend except holidays
q Participate in SWAP
Ski With A Patroller program lets you spend the entire day with us from the morning safety meeting, shadowing a patroller all day, and to helping with evening sweep. This is the best way to find out what patrolling is like at Homewood and meet our patrol.
q Complete and send the application form
q Enroll in and successfully complete Outdoor Emergency Care course (OEC)
q Become CPR Certified
q Register with the National Ski Patrol
q Complete Candidate Training
This is a big time commitment: every other weekend from early Dec through March.
Why Patrol?
Our motto is Responding to Save Others. We are a service organization devoted to providing safety and first aid to the snow sport public at HMR, while participating in a sport we love. You will also be joining the Homewood Ski Patrol family, be a part of the approximately 27,000 member National Ski Patrol, and work as a volunteer at the Homewood Mountain Resort under the direction of the Ski Patrol Department.
We have an excellent benefit package, which includes season passes, day vouchers, and discounts on equipment, lessons and meals. As a volunteer organization, many of our expenses are tax deductible.
