...the sun was setting and I could see the Alpine glow on the eastern
mountains. The mountain was closed. No wind, just a
beautiful view of the lake against a blue azure sky...the green trees
standing in contrast to the sky, snow, and lake. This is
the best part of the day...the close...the retreat..sweep. I looked around
and could see the other patrollers moving across
their assigned runs. What else could one want...being with good
friends...having spent a day helping people...and now
witnessing a beautiful sunset. We are a special breed...
